About ACRES
ACRES (Animal Concerns Research and Education Society) is a Singapore-based charity and advocacy group dedicated to wildlife rescue and rehabilitation, education, and advocacy against animal cruelty. The organization needed a modern web platform to support their operations and engage with supporters.
Technical Stack
Built with Next.js for server-side rendering and optimal performance, styled with Tailwind CSS for a responsive and modern design. The application features secure user authentication, protected routes, and role-based access control to manage different user permissions.
The backend integrates with a robust database system to manage user data, orders, and content. RESTful APIs ensure clean separation between the frontend and backend services.
Payment & Ordering System
A complete e-commerce solution was implemented, allowing users to browse merchandise, add items to cart, and complete secure payments. The ordering system includes inventory management, order tracking, and automated email notifications for order confirmations and shipping updates.
User Experience
The interface was designed with accessibility and ease of use in mind, featuring intuitive navigation, responsive layouts for all device sizes, and clear calls-to-action. The design reflects ACRES' mission of wildlife conservation while providing a seamless user experience.
Key features include user account management, donation tracking, event registration, and a content management system for ACRES administrators to update site content without technical knowledge.
